What Sacred ECHOES of the Well Means to Us

A Conversation with Isabelle Stark and Naa Kwarley Amissah

When Mr. George Floyd lost his life at the hands of former police office, Derrick Chauvin, MUSEA CoFounder Shiloh Sophia saw the importance of opening a dialogue about his death and the injustice endured every day by countless Black people around the world. These healing circles were held for 12 months.

From these Remembrance Circles, MUSEA’s Sacred ECHOES of the Well sisterhood circle was born. Initially referred to as the “BIWOC Circle”, the Sacred ECHOES members chose to change the name. They did not want to be identified by the color of their skin. They wanted a banner that better echoed the true meaning and reason for their circle:

Ethnicity
Culture
Heritage
Oneness
Everlasting
Sisterhood

Today, Museum Matters shares with you a conversation with the Sacred ECHOES Leadership - Isabelle Stark and Naa Kwarley Amissah - where they share what it means to be a part of the Sacred ECHOES Sisterhood. Enjoy this heartfelt sharing from these Foundation leaders.
